    Toric IOLs

    January 25th, 2010

Individuals with astigmatism no longer need glasses after cataract surgery when they receive a Toric IOL (intraocular lens.) Dr. Kenneth Miller implants these toric lenses, as well as, the following multifocal IOLs, Crystalens, ReSTOR and ReZoom. Cataracts can affect individuals in their 40’s and 50’s, as well as, senior citizens. Baby boomers developing cataracts no longer have to settle for the conventional, single focus IOL like their parents, or thick glasses like their grandparents! Contact us (973) 325-3300, to schedule a free consultation.

    Crystalens Accommodating IOL

    September 12th, 2007

Crystalens is the first and only, FDA approved, accommodating intraocular lens implant.  Crystalens flexes inside the eye, similar to the way the natural lens does, to focus on distance and near objects.  This premium implant is available for individuals with cataracts or for CLE (Clear Lens Exchange) or RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange.)  There are many, many choices for IOLs (Intraocular Lens Implants) these days, such as, multifocal, accommodating, toric or the traditional monofocal IOL.  An in-depth, pre-operative consultation with the surgeon is more critical now than ever before.

Toric IOLs for Cataracts & Astigmatism

    September 2nd, 2007

If you have cataracts and astigmatism, there’s an implant available that corrects both!  Alcon Surgical has a new TORIC IOL (intraocular lens impant).  This implant corrects astigmatism after cataract surgery.  Previously, individuals wore glasses with astigmatic correction after cataract surgery or had AK (Astigmatic Keratectomy) at the time of their cataract surgery.  Now, a clear, toric lens can be implanted to replace the cataract and correct the astigmatism.  A consultation is recommended and measurements necessary to confirm candidacy for this new lens.

    Second Generation ReSTOR now available!

    September 2nd, 2007

The new second generation ReSTOR is now available!  The new design improves the quality of vision, including night vision.  The unique Aspheric design is a first in presbyopia-correcting IOLs available in the U.S.
